Abstract

The progress of transpersonal psychology is related to the other science. The most higher potention in understanding transpersonal psychology is in consciousness level. In Islam, it has been called as qolbu and fitrah, in Christian it has been called as spirit, and in Hindu it has been called as atman. There is no differences in the terminology of transpersonal and spiritual. The connection condition that makes us related one to another can be explained also in quantum phsysics. Abstract

This paper explores the pattern of communication between lecturers and students in an educational setting. Using the framework of Communication Accommodation Theory, this study investigates whether the communication patterns between lecturers and students were influenced by an intergroup context. In depth interviews were conducted for 25 pairs of lecturers and students at Unika Atma Jaya, Jakarta. The findings show that participants communication behaviour were influenced by status differences between lecturers and students. Status differences created a social distance between lecturers and students which lead to incongruence perceptions and communication satisfactions. Equal relationships can be managed by employing accommodative communication behaviour.Keywords: intergroup context, communication accommodation

Abstract

Homophobia is an interesting topic to be discussed not only because of its universality but also its controversion. Homophobia grows among the condition of misunderstanding and prejudice from heterosexism hegemony. Homophobia is more impressive to be felt because the shallow understanding of religion. On the other hand, only few people who realize that human sexual attitudes and behaviors is constructed by the culture. Learning processes that supposed to be done by heterosexuals about how to see the existance of gay wisely would help to simplify the problems.Keywords: homophobia, heterosexism

Abstract

Indonesia is located in The Pasific Ring of Fire or in the circle of active fire mountains in the earth. As a result, the volcanic activity and its underground eruption cause a lot of earthquakes which is followed by tsunami. Earthquake and tsunami caused thousand people die and a lot of people lost their wealth. Unfortunately, Indonesian people are still weak in case of preparation from disaster. In other words, disaster preparation in this discussion refers to the ability and awareness of Indonesian people to save their lives when disaster comes. However, preparation itself can be devided into simulation, survival training and guidance in order to avoid building’s crash. As a result, it increasing the ability of residents to survive from disaster. Furthermore, the characteristics of disaster contains of rescue preparation, the competence to struggle, plaining and recovering. Meanwhile, dimension of survival can also be differ into: (1) rescue information, (2) synchronize coordinate management, (3) formal and informal organinization, (4) Rescue team whose prepared to run their duty during emergency time, (5) survival recovering, (6) wealth recovering, (7) main function during emergency and recovering times and (8) recovering activity. Finally, the preparation gives awareness and belief among communities to rescue from disaster. Moreover, it help to minimize sufferer and its psychological impact.Keywords ; preparation from disaster

Abstract

Based on Social Learning Theory the fact that parent treats their children in different way between their son and daughter is considered as one of the cause of sexism. The aim of this study is to know and to proof the relationship between gender socialization done by parents with sexism in adolescent. The participants of this study are 106 female and 94 male adolescents in DKI Jakarta. The result shows that hostile sexism in male adolescents is higher than female adolescents, and benevolent sexism in female adolescents is higher than male adolescents. Parents also did more traditional gender socialization to female adolescents. There are also correlation between demographic datas such as age, education level and work status in mother and main variable if this study. Another finding is there is no correlation between gender socialization and sexism in male and female adolescents. However, this study finds that gender socialization has a correlation with hostile sexism in male adolescents. This finding will help us to get deeper understanding about the source of sexism.Keywords: sexism, gender sosialization, parents, benevolent, hostile, adolescence, social learning, gender
